Lakewood Ranch-area residents are being asked to help the Manatee County Sheriff's Office track down two wanted men after the agency posted back-to-back bulletins Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Christian Pete is wanted on three warrants: DUI, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting with violence. The last two charges are felonies in Florida.

The sheriff's office posted Pete's name and photo on its official X account as part of its weekly #WarrantWednesday series. No physical description, age or last known address was included in the bulletin.

The agency urged anyone who recognizes Pete to call the sheriff's office at (941) 747-3011 or submit an anonymous tip to CrimeStoppers of Manatee County at 1-866-634-TIPS. Residents should not approach him directly.

Second suspect: registered sex offender sought

In a separate bulletin posted the same day, the sheriff's office said it is also looking for James Anderson, a registered sexual offender wanted for failing to notify the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles of an address change.

Under Florida law, registered sexual offenders must report any change of residence to the DHSMV within 48 hours. Failure to comply is a third-degree felony carrying up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Anderson's bulletin also did not include a physical description or last known location.

The sheriff's office reminded residents not to approach either individual. Anyone with information on Anderson's whereabouts can use the same tip lines: (941) 747-3011 or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-634-TIPS.

The #WarrantWednesday program is a recurring series in which the agency posts wanted-person bulletins to solicit public tips.

Residents can search for registered offenders in their area through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's public database at offender.fdle.state.fl.us.
