Lakewood Ranch High School's Student Government Association is building a full calendar of spirit events for the 2026-27 school year, starting with a homecoming week in October that will end with a schoolwide bonfire.

SGA adviser and vocational teacher Tommy Cuervo told Mustangs Ahead, the school's student news outlet, that the group's goal is "to get as many students involved in the high school experience as possible, whether it is at homecoming or one of our monthly events."

The homecoming week lineup includes a different dress-up theme each day and a Thursday evening bonfire. SGA also selects the homecoming theme and organizes the dance. Beyond homecoming, the group plans monthly events and organizes every spirit week at the 2,422-student school.

SGA opened the year with a staff "Breakfast of Champions" featuring Chick-fil-A sandwiches and fruit. Cuervo said he started the event to recognize staff after the first week of school.

Specific October dates for homecoming have not been announced. Students interested in joining SGA can follow @lrhssga on Instagram for application updates.
