Gerald Baldi is seeking Florida Senate District 20 with a platform centered on drinking water, infrastructure and the timing of new development.
In written responses to the Manatee Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 general election questionnaire, Baldi identified clean tap water and infrastructure as his most important regional policy issues.
He proposed requiring impact studies and approval from affected districts and surrounding communities before construction proceeds. Infrastructure should be approved first, he said, with particular attention to the strain development places on water systems.
Asked how Florida should attract investment, residents and visitors, Baldi again pointed to infrastructure capacity. His responses tied economic growth to adequate water systems and a role for neighboring communities in reviewing development.
The questionnaire provides a concise account of his policy priorities. It does not include a detailed funding plan or a biographical account of his professional background. His proposals are campaign positions, rather than adopted state policy.
